This review represents a comprehensive overview of different  factors and pathophsiological explanations of the asthma as well as the potential solutions and treatment options.

With the insight into next-gen sequencing, microbiology of the gut and airways, it is giving the readers many information and previously published results in one paper.

This manuscript is a very interesting review of dysbiosis and asthma aetiology and severity regarding the microbiome modulation of the gut-lung axis during the first days of life and lifecycle. Moreover, the authors highlight that dietary patterns and diet diversity could also be a window of opportunity to change the composition of the gut and airways microbiome to prevent asthma and reduce asthma persistency and severity; and reinforces that Nutritionists and Nutrition Experts should be more broadly incorporated in the multidisciplinary units to prevent and manage asthma.
