Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This work aims to review the application of SBA-15 by metal modification in the ODS process.

Authors have made an extensive review of the state of the art on this matter, by collecting 217 citations.

The structure of the paper is suitable for description and discussion, however prior to its publication I strongly recommend to include Summary Tables of the best catalysts and best conditions achieved among different modifications of SBA-15.

These tables could greatly enhance the quality of the paper, and at least should include the following information: Catalyst modification, Conversion, Operating conditions, sulphur removal (%) and reference.

Author Response

We thank the referee for his important suggestion; according to this, we added in the revised version the new Table 1, containing our selection of the best catalytic systems, along with informations related to catalyst modification, operating conditions, % of sulphur removal, number of recycling steps and pertinent reference.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors have provided a comprehensive review of the use of SBA-15 as a support for use in the ODS process.
My only comment is that they do not provide a critical evaluation of the different  choices of metal that have been used.
A Conclusions section that compares the various approaches and identifies which is/are the most promising, would be very helpful.

Author Response

Accordingly to the referee suggestion, in the revised version we added the new final “Conclusions” paragraph no. 10.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors have followed both reviewers' suggestions and this way, they have improved the quality of this complete review.

Kind regards
