Ecosystem Functions of Microbial Consortia in Sustainable Agriculture
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The submited manuscript is marked as "minireview". The topic is important when we would like to balance share between agriculture sustainability and high productivity. Authors cited more than 100 references. They describe main groups of microbial consortia in relation to plant production in agriculture.
In current form is manuscript very well made introduction of scientific paper. Authors cited many sources and give some examples. But in this form is manuscript difficult for reader.
I would like to propose to add some summary tables and diagrams based on data from scientific papers to each group of described soil beneficiary organism. Also should be more mentioned on examples negative impact of intense agriculture on organism and given beneficcial examples for organic (sustainable) farming.

Reviewer 2 Report
This manuscript is a mini review that describes the properties of microbial consortia that promote the quality and health of agricultural crops. The text is written in a suitable succinct language with appropriate sections. However, it fails the main objective that is “to provide knowledge that will contribute to the development” of agricultural sustainable strategies that increase productivity. Although the information contained is precise and scientifically accurate, it does not provide data or indication of the practical application of the use of microbial consortia in promoting soil restoration or plant health. Namely with regard to biotechnological applications, the given information is general and no specific situations of the use, for example of AMF are mentioned. Also, there is no information on which and on how to explore and promote specific agricultural practices that will enhance microbial consortia properties. Thus, this mini review may be of relevant scientific interest only if the information is updated and supplemented with data from laboratory or field studies that actually demonstrate the added value of the uses of microbial consortia in the promotion and protection of agricultural crops.

Dear Editor, Dear authors,
I found the mini review of high significance for the scentific community, to increase the scientific interest and the practical application of microbial consortia in agriculture.
In my opinion, before publication, the manuscript required some attention in the form and in the presentation of the content.
Further specific comments could be found in the revised manuscript.

This manuscript is an improved version of a mini review that describes the properties of microbial consortia that promote the quality and health of agricultural crops. The authors made changes in the original manuscript according to the various suggestions made in the 1st review. The information added and the new tables are very informative and complete. However, the authors will have to correct the tables introduced by adding titles in the columns (eg fo Table 1: AMF species, culture, beneficial effect, reference). In addition, the 3 tables must be reformulated to comply with the rules of binomial nomenclature in accordance with the International Nomenclature Code. Minor details:
line 82 – replace “which is turn” with “which in turn”
lines 132-133 – change to: Different benefits of microbial consortia in agricultural crops are presented in Table 1.
line 139 paragrah after [70]; no paragraph after “plant microbiome”
