Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript is interesting. In the introduction, the authors write about the beneficial effect of the cultivation systems used on the improvement of soil moisture conditions. It is a pity that in their research they did not take into account the parameter of soil moisture. My suggestion is that perhaps the information on the improvement of soil moisture conditions should be removed, since this parameter has not been tested. The authors did not describe the type of soil on which the experiment was conducted, and this is significant. I did not find any information on the physicochemical properties of soils before setting up the experiment. Please complete this information

We appreciate constructive comments from the reviewer.

In the introduction, information provided regarding cover crop benefits such as soil water conservation was only for a reader to understand the complete benefits from cover crops. In our paper, we did not provide any further discussion regarding soil moisture improvements as we did not evaluate this parameter. As per reviewer’s valid comment, we provided detailed soil information including soil taxonomy and physicochemical properties and supported this information by a relevant reference (page 3, lines 125-130); Reference # [22] page 16, line 534.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors

I believe the paper is well written and discussed, the outcomes of this paper can help other researchers in the field of organic agriculture.

Just a recommendation in your future works it will be a good idea to analyze the cost of your organic production system in compared to the systems which chemicals fertilizers are being used.

Kind regards
