Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Authors,
thank you for presenting such an interesting article, which thematically provides a great background for precision agriculture. You can see that it was written by professionals and people familiar with the research workshop.
The paper was written in accordance with the applicable rules. The authors have aligned the content very well with the various points. They presented the results of the research in a clear and understandable way and conducted a good discussion of the results. Reading the paper one gets the feeling that the authors are aware of the issues presented.
The only remark is the lack of DOI references in the bibliography. I suggest that this be supplemented.

Reviewer 3 Report

The article " Predicting the lime demand of arable soils from pH value, soil texture and soil organic matter content" explains the interaction of soil pH, texture and soil organic matter. An informative and interesting research work has been done while manuscript is good in structure and well written where a massive data set is presented, but needs minor revision by following below comments and suggestions. I believe these findings and recommendations will be helpful for the researchers globally.

Introduction, although written well while latest new studies may also be added and cited. The material and method section is written in detail. The result section is okay but the discussion needed to improve by focusing more on logical discussion justifying the objectives of the study.  Specific comments

Line 26. Don’t start a sentence with “Because”. OR put “, “before word because.

Line 33-35. Please rewrite the sentence again, and started with the word “compared”.

You have selected 3 soil parameters but did not explain the weather conditions. Please add weather conditions in the material and methods section. Weather variables have interactions with soil parameters like higher temperature reduced soil organic matter content etc.

Line 150-152. Please rewrite this sentence again.

Write equations by following the proper equation format.

Line 351-353. Please rewrite the sentence again and also put proper punctuation marks.

Line 359-361. Please rewrite the sentence again. Please write meaningful and short sentences.

Please add the new latest reference (high-class journals) to improve your paper look more professional.
