Manuscript Title:The effect of mulch materials on selected soil properties, yield and grape quality in vineyards under central European conditions
General Comment:
The presented paper deals with the effect of two different mulch materials that are applied to the soil surface and on the yield and quality parameters of grapes (Vitis vinifera L.). The manuscript has scientific merit. However,there are some concerns and points which must be improved. Please also remove ANY lumped references. Please define each of them separately to avoid inappropriate citations. Authors are suggested to undergo the following correction so as to improve the quality of manuscript.
*The abstract should exclude an introduction and general statements and must provide enough scientific information that will allow a reader to understand the key findings of the manuscript. Your abstract should clearly state the essence of the problem you are addressing, what you did and what you found and recommend. That would help prospective readers of the abstract to decide if they wish to read the entire article. Revise the abstract.
*Arrange the keywords in alphabetical order.
*Please briefly clarify the problem statement, objectives, and future prospects in the introduction section.
*Enhance the introduction by inserting some environmental aspects about mulching.
*Line no 79-81; provide the coordinates of the study area.
* Authors are suggested to add discussion by explaining trends in the obtained results along with the possible mechanisms behind the trends.
*Improve the discussion part by adding more new supporting data from the literature.
* It is strongly recommended to add a subsection, 'practical implications of this study,' outlining the challenges in the current research, future work, and recommendations, before the conclusion
*Please make sure your conclusions section underscores the scientific value-added of your paper and/or the applicability of your results.
In your conclusions, please discuss the implications of your research.
For citations and reference within the text, author must follow guide for authors. The references must be also in the format of the journal.
The Table legends, figure captions, and foot notes need improvement. All legends, captions, and foot notes should have enough description for a reader to understand the figure without having to refer back to the main text of the manuscript.
The manuscript contains numerous typos, stylistic issues, and some grammatical errors. The manuscript should be checked once for any grammatical as well as typological errors like somewhere spaces and comma (,).
