Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The work is relevant in the field of waste composting. This study examines the composting potential of Marasmius tricolor 310b. The research aims to increase the rate of degradation of lignocellulosic components in rapeseed straw when it is composted. To determine the effect of Marasmius tricolor 310b on the structure of the fungal community in the composting environment and to evaluate how the induction of Marasmius tricolor 310b can affect the transformation of essential nutrients in the compost and their further availability to plants. The subject of the manuscript is relevant in the field of scientific research, so this work could be a valuable contribution to such a field of research.

However, I have a few notes that should be reviewed:

The title of the work is appropriate;

Abstract: The annotation should be supplemented. Emphasize the novelty of the work more. Present the main research results to evaluate the effect of Marasmius tricolor 310b on composting (how many percent improve the composting indicators, present the main results obtained in numerical values);

Keywords are appropriate;

Introduction: Refer to the following structure: Give brief basic information about the subject. Do not repeat the same information. Then write a review of the previous studies (it is important to cite recent studies). Define the gap found in the literature and express your study’s aim.

Material and Methods:

Research methods are properly described in the work. However, there are a few comments:

The paper states that "...moisture content controlled between 50%-60% and a C/N ratio between 25:1 and 30:1". Please explain how the moisture content was regulated.

I would suggest not to divide subsections 2.3 and 2.4 into smaller subsections. Because they are short. Subsection 2.4 has only one subsubsection.

Formulas for the calculation of cellulose, lignin, and hemicellulose must be submitted according to journal requirements

The Data Interpretation and Analysis subsection must contain information on the methods of determining measurement errors, the measurement accuracy of the equipment used for research, errors, the manufacturer and the country of origin.

The methodology should provide more detailed information about the research process. Information about the physicochemical properties of the raw materials, in what proportions they were mixed, how the temperature was determined, how constant environmental conditions were maintained.

Results:

The results are described properly, the quality of the figures could be improved.

The title of Figure 1 must explain (a), (b), (c)... Figures;

In Figure 2, the quality of the images is poor, I would suggest increasing the dimensions of the Figures;

Discussion: The presentation and discussion of the presented topicis clear and very detailed however I suggest the authors increase this discussion in the manuscript, as it is a strong aspect of the work.  The section should present comparisons of the results obtained during this study and those obtained during similar studies by other authors.

Conclusion: The conclusion should be supplemented with the obtained main research results. I would suggest to present them in numerical values in order to evaluate the effect of Marasmius tricolor 310b.

Reference: Many literature sources are reviewed in the work. Recent literature reviewed. More than 50 percent sources are more recent than 5 years. There are layout errors (numbering of literature sources is duplicated, publication year is incorrect in 9 literature sources, "doi" references should be entered).

After careful review of my comments and revisions, the manuscript must be submitted for review.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

General comment : I didn’t go deep in the discussion because of the methodology and lack of information of crucial data. Please read the comments and improve the paper.

1.      101 FeCl3

2.      105 km2

3.      107 ‘’the multi-enzyme microbial group was created by our research group…’’. This sentence is not related to the previous texts and the multi-enzyme role or function was not previously explained. What do you mean by this. Please explain it.

4.      110 why this particle size was chosen. It is a very important parameter. The specific surface of the rapeseed straw will be subject to degradation by microbes. So the small it gets, it’s better for the microbes. Usually the particle size will be around 1 to 1.5 mm.

5.      111 why these ratios and moisture content were used. Please explain and quote with references.

6.      112 Please, give the volume of pig manure and the quantity of rapeseed straw that were used?

7.      119 the samples should be washed with acetone and water. Only water is not sufficient to wash the neutral detergent solution. The weight after oven will be false. Please make sure that these results are accurate from your procedure.

8.      124 which acid detergent are used. Please quote references or describe the methodology fully used. This one also should be washed with acetone and water. The results from this process are not accurate based on the methodology.

9.      What was the Marasmius tricolor 310b inoculation volume or percentage? And how that volume or percentage was chosen.

1247 please give tables of pig manure and rapeseed straw characterisation. A complete characterisation of these two and the mixture should be the first step in order to follow the evolution.
