Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsGeneral Comments
Title: Climate impact in cereal, by using a statistical model; however in the manuscript climate topic is lower compared with soil, fertilization, crops condition, Suggestion: tunning title according objective and research
Abstract: Another one, the aim ... climate water balance (CWB), even mentioned as a function of management, water consumption is tiny, perhaps figure 2
Introduction: I missed reading something about the CART method, application, results, configuration, advantages and weaknesses to choose this method in these crops in this place. Same for the CWB, climate water balance, however you are using this indicator to explain water consumption or moisture evolution, Suggestion: Explain
M&M. Because the configuration of the CART model, that is, input variables and how they were obtained, are not explained in the introduction, it is confusing to follow this setup. The suggestion is to be more explicit regarding the construction process.
Results and Discussion: Normally, all bibliographic sources are in the introduction and it is not customary to integrate new ideas into the discussion, as is the case in this case. In table 2, it is difficult to identify the impact of climate change on cereals, even mor the Climate Water Balance. In Figure 2, authors are showed the trends in CWB, however they calculate correlation coefficient less than 1??? or dispersion?? as you well say, there are not statistical correlations??'
Conclusion: In this reviewer opinion, the conclusion is general and it is not specific for this research. Some questions are noted in the manuscript in order to help the author.
Other specific comments are in the manuscript

Comments and Suggestions for Authors1- Adding the study area or target area to the title here will be Poland
2- Unify the references in the manuscript in line with the journal's references format as in line 42-43
3- Line 52 Replace the verb "mitigate" by "adapt"
4- what is the novelty of the work
5- What are the advantages and disadvantages of CART analysis used in the study
6- Are there other methods or tools that can be applied or used other than the CART method
7- It is clear from the references mentioned that the authors have extensive experience in applying CART method, what is the difference between this work and the previous
8- The introduction needs to add studies that have been done in this regard in Poland or in similar areas
9- Is the increase in yield for the second treatment (a2) is significant when compared to the first condition a1
10- it will be good if you mention the climate features of this period, is rainfall is below or above the normal, also for temperature, in addition is there any extreme event recorded which may impact the productivity of the crops?
11-What is the reason behind the increase and decrease in the number of locations for these crops during the study periodØŸ
12- The manuscript has only 38 references but the reference list contains 39 references

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis study employs Classification and Regression Trees analysis to evaluate the relationships between yield variations and agronomic factors. This is a significant topic. However, for the following reasons, I believe it should be considered for publication only after major revisions.
Introduction
1. L98-109: This section overlaps with the previous one. It is advisable to either delete or consolidate it.
Methods
2. Figure 1: Standardize the overview map of the research area by adding a legend, latitude and longitude information, etc.
3. L126-127: Are the sowing and harvesting times for all crops' winter species and spring species the same?
4. In section 2.2, please add the sources of the weather and soil data.
5. L167: The term "Climatic Water Balance" has already been defined on L54, so there is no need to repeat the definition. Make sure to check the entire text for consistency.
6. Why are there two sections 2.2?
7. The content in the "Statistical Analysis" section is too simplistic. It is recommended to provide a more detailed description of the research methods used in the study.
Results
8. Table 2: Is the total period 2008-2022? Please carefully check the range of the study period, as section 2.1 states "2009-2022.
Conclusions
9. The conclusion section primarily consists of qualitative statements. It is advisable to include some data-supported conclusions to strengthen this section.
Comments on the Quality of English LanguageThe English could be improved to more clearly express the research.
