Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The results are well organized and recorded but trere are some problems in introduction and discussion. The aim of the manuscript doesn't appear clearly in the introduction.  Therefore I believe that the introduction must be rewritten and the aims of the manuscript mustbe put  clearly . Concerning the discussion, it must be rewritten , because there is no adequate comparison of the results of this study with those of other researchers

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article presented is original and addresses a very new and important topic today, where climate change is increasing the stress experienced by crops.

The document clearly points out some errors and considerations that need to be improved.

First, when writing an article it is important to do so in the third person and the authors use the first person a lot.

Second, the introduction should address everything related to the topic to be worked on; in this case, the fungal disease discussed in the results (Fusarium stalk rot) is not presented in either the introduction or the methodology.

Third, the results often include paragraphs that belong to the methodology or the discussion, which needs to be improved.

Fourth, I consider that the primers used in the study should not be supplementary material.

In general, the figures presented should be improved because they are not clearly visible. The discussion should also be improved in the sense of discussing a little more the relevance of what was found for resistance to the stresses addressed and comparing it with the literature.

Scientific names should be written in full only the first time, including the descriptor, for example Zea mays L., and then simply Z. mays, and in this sense, authors use the scientific name and the common name indistinctly, so the way of citing the name of the crop should be standardized.

I am not an expert in English, but there are many paragraphs that need to be improved because they are not understood.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript "Genome-Wide Identification and Functional Analysis of the 2 Genes of the ATL Family in Maize During High Temperature 3 Stress in Maize" possibly contributes to advances in scientific knowledge in maize gene expression related to abiotic stress but it is very difficult to read and understand. Apparently, two main experiments were done: one related to genome sequence study and other related to over-expression of two genes via transgenesis. Also, some transcription experiments were done but it is not clear on what genotypes (just in the wild ones? Or also the transgenic ones were evaluated?). But formal presentation avoids properly evaluating the manuscript. I suggest a complete revision by an expert in scientific redaction native to English language and then a new round of evaluation could be scientifically done with a scientific basis.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

As previously mentioned, a complete revision must be done.
