Skill-Testing Chemical Transport Models across Contrasting Atmospheric Mixing States Using Radon-222
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This is an excellent article - very extensive and extremely well written. I really have no critical comments except that there is a little "skipping around" of figure presentation. For example, on p. 19 Figure 18 is mentioned before figures 15 and 16 were referenced.

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for your time and care in evaluating our manuscript. We have now modified the text to avoid the referencing of figures out of order. In addition to these changes, since the manuscript was submitted we noticed an error in the temperature and wind speed estimates from the CCAM (O-CTM) model, which have now also been corrected.
Kind regards, Scott Chambers

Reviewer 2 Report
Paper entitled "Skill -testing chemical transport models across contrasting atmospheric mixing states using 222Rn " is very good in the field of radon -atmospheric tracer in relation with air pollution.
The proposed new technique to prepare statistically-robust benchmarking data for
evaluating chemical transport model meteorology and air quality parameters within the urban
boundary layer seems to be excellent for emissions inventories analysis.
Author Response
Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for your time and care in reviewing our manuscript for this journal. Since submitting the manuscript we became aware of some problems with the temperature and wind speed output from the CCAM-based O-CTM model. These errors have been addressed in the revised version.
Kind regards, Scott Chambers
