(1) The research is interesting, and the calculation and experiments are well designed.

(2) The description of the results in the abstract should be improved to be more concise and focused, and avoid the fragmentation.

(3) The connections between the research and the assessment of river system health in large-scale were not well clarified, resulting in that the meaning of the results seems to be overstated.
