General Comments:

The research article is designed to study the “Effect of Water Stress on Yield and Fruits Quality Indices of Tomatoes Grown in Sandy Loam and Silt Loam Soils”. The article is designed to study the two different soil type with four different field capacity treatments with four replications. The authors study the CWSI for tomato crop and check the water stress on the quality and quantity of the fruit.

The article has some Grammar and English language mistake therefore I would recommend to proof read the article from English native speaker.

The discrepancies of the article are mentioned below to improve its quality.

Revisions:

L29, replace the word “senescence”.

In the abstract section and throughout the article, there is a spacing issue in the sentence. Kindly carefully check the spacing and provide appropriate space between the words.

L53, Don’t use the repeated words in the keywords, which are already used in the title of the article, i.e., water stress; sandy loam soil; silty loam soil.

L63, 95 percent, use the percentage sign. Be consistent.

In the introduction section, there is limited literature about the CWSI. Kindly add one paragraph about the importance and effects of the CWSI.

L69, use the correct style of reference, i.e., Basit et al [2] so use only [2].

L91-92, check reference style. L115, L119-120, L235-236, check reference style.

In the last paragraph of the introduction section, must mention the novelty statement.

L149, Use appropriate numbering (2.2) for the heading, Soil and water quality Data.

L181, don’t use the full name of the equipment after the abbreviation. Only use TDR

L222-227, Rephrase.

L237 and L238 Superscript.

L240, How the dry biomass of the fruit was measured?

L273, check the sentence English and English grammar.

L330, revise the figure caption.

L362, large large?

L391-92, Split the figure-4 into 2 separate figures for sandy loam and silty loam for easy visibility of the data.

L393, provide appropriate numbering to the heading.

In table-6, and table-7 mention the treatments for SA and SB in the same order i.e., 70-100, 70-60, 60-50, and 50-40.

Revise the conclusion of the article.

The manuscript titled „Effect of Water Stress on Yield and Fruits Quality Indices of Tomatoes Grown in Sandy Loam and Silt Loam Soils” deals with real questions of the tomato production. These questions are actual all over the world, where tomato is produced.

The varieties play an important role in the production; a lot of characters vary variety by variety. It is also important to be able to repeat the trials made in the frame of the research work fulfilled during the research activity described in the manuscript. Therefore, I am wondering, why a short description of the applied variety is missing from the paper.

Is it possible to have a short description about growing technology? How were the plans grown during the research activity? Were there any treatments like fixing the position of the shoots or removing some leaves applied?

Dear Authors,

The paper is very interesting but due to its multithreading, I would suggest modifying the topic and focusing on one issue e.g. the irrigation process itself and its influence on yield. My detailed comments are included in the file. In my opinion, the paper should be edited before it is published.
