Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

One site case on multi-criteria decision analysis of sites with increased nutrient contents in water were conducted in this study. It seems to be useful for local water resources management. Here are some suggestions.

1. Specify the collection of water quality data, such as year, season. Analysis and study of Long term data could be better to provide the suggestions for local water resources managers.

2. Based on the data analysis results, the main reason for nutrients pollutants needs to be given, point-source or non-point source? 3. Abstract and Conclusion sections were suggested to be rewritten, and the new finding or suggestions for local water resources managers needs to be clearly described.

Reviewer 2 Report

The study by Mladenović-Ranisavljević et al. provides a timely and worthy decision-making framework for stakeholders involved in water quality improvements in the Danube watershed in Serbia. In general, the study is clearly presented and the conclusions are justified. However, the text can be shortened quite a bit without loss of clarity, and there are numerous language errors.

Reviewer 3 Report

Reviewer  comments,

Review Paper, water-2020024: Multicriteria decision analysis of sites with increased nutrient contents in water, The autors describe the have dealt with nutrient pollution of the Danube River from multi criteria analysis point of view providing the interdependencies of locations and specific sources of pollution.

The conclusions suggest that the management of watercourses of particular extension over large territories, including international ones, must be shared in order to obtain a better quality of the resource.

The manuscript is well written and clear in the elaborations and conclusions, minor revisions are necessary.

Specific revisions:

In Figure 1 you report the name Serbia in map (black and ciano area)

In Table 1 and in the text, the unit mg/l will have to changed to mg L-1
