Comments

Overall comment

The manuscript topic entitled “Dynamic Response Characteristics of Shallow Groundwater Level to Hydro-meteorological Factors and Well-irrigation Water Withdrawals under Different Conditions of Groundwater Buried Depth” is important to take emphasis in the impact of groundwater withdrawals on groundwater level in the study area. The manuscript is clearly written and the main idea is well presented. Generally, it's ok. Even though the manuscript is written with a good scientific base, due to some gaps, I recommended the manuscript be returned to the authors for minor revision. I hope, the authors will take their time to revise the manuscript based on the comments.

1.      In the abstract sections, the authors should explain the possible implications of their findings, besides, the flow of the idea should also be improved following the general introduction including a brief description of the study area, method and data used, results and implications of their findings.

2.      Keywords shall be not the replication of words in the title

3.        The authors need to comprehensively describe the quality, consistency, and completeness of the data used in this investigation.

4.      Table 4: How does the author describe the correlation increment between groundwater level and yellow river water at stage >20m, from 0.30 to 0.34?

5.      The discussion needs further elaboration. The author should discuss the outcomes of the previous study in this region.

6.       The citation did not follow the format, which must be improved.

7.      The manuscript must be carefully checked for syntax mistakes.
