Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

A few suggestions, mostly relating to English expression are provided:

Line 30-34       First sentence should be rewritten to read more clearly. For example “is mobilizing the soil in depth” is not clear; positive and negative effects of tillage should be more simply stated. Harpand is hardpan?

Line 35 initiating rather than initial? …degradation

Line 40 Systems with minimum tillage involve

Line 41 milling cutters, while protecting complex aggregates and keeping …

Line 47 and improving soil nitrogen

Line 58 is influenced

Line 85 it is characterized

General regarding 2.2 Research method

No information was provided about antecedent conditions and management prior to the experiment. How had the soil/crop system been managed for the experimental site before the experiment?

Soil data is provided without reference to how it was sampled or variability. Was this a single sample analyzed for the experimental site, a composite sample, or mean data for multiple samples?

Line 164 sowing until

Line 173 Weed spectrum was …treatment. It consists …

Line 221 and negatively influence

Dear Reviewer 1

Thank you very much for evaluating our manuscript. Your recommendations were very useful and helped us to improve the paper. We have carried out point by point each recommendation made by you, the explanations are given below.

Question: A few suggestions, mostly relating to English expression are provided:

Question: Line 30-34 First sentence should be rewritten to read more clearly. For example “is mobilizing the soil in depth” is not clear; positive and negative effects of tillage should be more simply stated. Harpand is hardpan?.

Answer:  We reformulated and simplified the phrase to better express the negative and positive effects of the plow. Yes, it is about hardpan, we corrected it.

 Question: Line 35 initiating rather than initial? …degradation;

Answer:  Yes, it's better, we corrected it.

Question: Line 40 Systems with minimum tillage involve

Answer:  We think it's better: System with minimum tillage includes the basic tillage without…

Question: Line 41 milling cutters, while protecting complex aggregates and keeping …

Answer:  We have corrected and clarified this aspect. Thank you!

Question: Line 47 and improving soil nitrogen.

Answer:  Thank you! We corrected it.

Question: Line 58 is influenced.

Answer:  Thank you! We corrected it.

Question: Line 85 it is characterized

Answer:  Thank you! We corrected it.

Question: General regarding 2.2 Research method. No information was provided about antecedent conditions and management prior to the experiment. How had the soil/crop system been managed for the experimental site before the experiment?

Answer:  We completed the information related to soil management before the experiment, in chapter 2.2.: * Before the start of the experiment, the soil in the experimental field was cultivated in the same rotation and the conventional soil tillage with the plow was applied.*

Question: Soil data is provided without reference to how it was sampled or variability. Was this a single sample analyzed for the experimental site, a composite sample, or mean data for multiple samples?

Answer:  We have completed the soil sample analysis method in chapter 2.2: *Soil samples were analyzed as the average sample of 25 partial samples (collected according to the diagonal method) collected from the experimental field at the beginning of the experiment.*

Question: Line 164 sowing until

Answer:  Thank you! We corrected it.

Question: Line 173 Weed spectrum was …treatment. It consists …

Answer:  Thank you! We corrected it.

Question: Line 221 and negatively influence

Answer:  Thank you! We corrected it.

Dear Reviewer 2

Thank you very much for evaluating our paper.

Reviewer 3 Report

I have reviewed with interest your manuscript entitled „Influence of Soil Tillage Systems on the Yield and Weeds Infestation in the Soybean Crop”.

Authors in their study evaluated the crop weeds infestation and soybean yield, in the period 2017-2021, under the influence of soil tillage systems and pedoclimatic conditions specific to the hilly area of the Transylvanian Plain.

In my opinion the current version of Your manuscript is suitable for publication in Land, but after small revisions. The quality of the presentation should be improved-e.g., the introduction is not written in an appropriate manner. In general, manuscript needs improvement.

There are same grammar mistakes and awkward sentences, that make the text difficult to follow at some points.

The article suffers from a number of small mistakes, ranging from misspellings to incorrectly phrased sentences.

Some adjustments are suggested to qualify the paper:

Issues include:

The Abstract should not exceed 200 words. In actual version the Abstract content more than 200 words. I propose to shorten it.

General comment to the Introduction section: The content of the literature review chapter is related to the research topic. Up-to-date literature references are presented in the manuscript by the author(s).

In the chapter "Materials and Methods", the methodology is adequate, but there is a lack of information in some aspects. Some more information should be explained in the text.

In the chapter "Results", the results are displayed correctly.

The “Discussion” is informative. Moreover, the Authors attempt to discuss their important results and the rest is a quotation of literature.

More small recommendation there are in the text of manuscript.

I hope that these comments help you to make an improved the final version of the manuscript.
