Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is well-structured and the authors have used a systematic approach to analyzing the research questions' objectives. No major corrections are required, while I would like to point to some minor issues that require some correction or comments.

-Line 154 Authors should better explain the meaning of “artificial urbanization”

-In Figure 1, the authors need to check whether the colors on the map match those in the legend. In any case, it is best to add the names of regions and cities to the maps.

-In section 4.1 there is some confusion in the presentation of the results of the interviews and questionnaires. For example, in lines 182-183 it should be specified what the evaluation nodes and case nodes refer to (I assume to the interviews, but it is not clearly written).

- Table 4. What is the value of the income column? It appears to be the sum of reported household incomes, but it is not explicitly stated.

RESPONSE TO REVIEWER 1

The paper is well-structured and the authors have used a systematic approach to analyzing the research questions' objectives. No major corrections are required, while I would like to point to some minor issues that require some correction or comments.

Thank you so much for our reviews, comments and suggestions on my article. Here, we would like to answer your comments and questions as follows:

- Question: Line 154 Authors should better explain the meaning of “artificial urbanization”.

Answer: The authors has added a footnote to explain the meaning of “artificial urbanization”. This is the definition used in Vietnam to represent a form of urbanization. It is the city’s development due to the excessive increase of urban population and the arrival of people from other regions, especially rural areas, which leads to unemployment and reduced quality of life.

- Question: In Figure 1, the authors need to check whether the colors on the map match those in the legend. In any case, it is best to add the names of regions and cities to the maps.

Answer: The authors has checked the colors on the map, and we see that they match in the legend.

- Question: In section 4.1 there is some confusion in the presentation of the results of the interviews and questionnaires. For example, in lines 182-183 it should be specified what the evaluation nodes and case nodes refer to (I assume to the interviews, but it is not clearly written).

Answer: The authors has added clear information on the article. “The evaluation nodes and case nodes were obtained through the results of interviews of 15 households at 3 study sites.”

- Question: Table 4. What is the value of the income column? It appears to be the sum of reported household incomes, but it is not explicitly stated.

Answer: The authors has edited the title for table 4 to give it the most detail.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper is interesting, even if not original at all. The analysis is linked at a specific country with particular features compared to those of many other countries. Yet it can be a good reference point for similar studies to be conducted in other countries. The methodology used is very simple and the bibliographic references should be extended and diversified. However, not considering it as a research paper, the work may be considered for publication in the journal.
