Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Very interesting article both from the point of view of the topic and the methodology of processing very diverse data. Like the authors, I have some doubts about the reliability of the data and consequently the results. I am also not aware of any other possibility of data processing. Numerous minor grammatical errors need to be corrected. In the notes, I inserted several questions directly into the text, which I recommend taking into account when editing the text.

Correction of minor errors in punctuation and some technical expressions is necessary.

This is an interesting paper which has originality and appropriateness for this journal. In the Introduction chapter, it can be seen that the authors gave an overview of the current situation, but there is still a lot of literature that is not included in the list and more worldwide not only local, which would still give a more precise picture of a better understanding of the long-term dynamics of viticulture landscape not only in Cyprus. The paper is generally well structured, but without a somewhat too clear goal. Author could better explain how the data was collected. Figure 1 and Table 1 in some way could be reorganized in order to connect to better explanation of area with viticulture, for better understanding of problem which is observed. The conclusion chapter isn’t clear and concise and I suggest that in the chapter conclusion should be add some explanation how this research has moved the issue of scientific knowledge forward.

Authors need to present the measurement of survey.

Also, the authors performed.regression analysis. Authors need to present the feature of the data, and why linear regression is.adequate?

Moreover, authors performed regression. Therefore, it.is necessary to present the research hypotheses to test.

Authors also need to present the theoretical contribution of this research as compare to extant literature.

In order to present the contribution, literture review needs to be strengthened and organized more.

The aim of the study is to record, evaluate and analyze spatial data from historical sources in order to gain insights into

the dynamics of the viticultural landscape from the beginning of the Ottoman period to the present day.  This job is very interesting.

1. introduction. The first paragraph and the rest lack a good logical connection. What are the scientific issues of this work?

2. 2.2 Sources. It is recommended to provide an explanation in this section to summarize the data categories used in the paper.

3. 3. Methods. Generally speaking, the methods section in the paper provides very specific methods, and the current section is very general.

4. Discussion. The discussion section should be a response to the issues raised in this work and the contribution of this work.
