The Symmetry Editorial Office retracts the article titled “Envariance as a Symmetry in Quantum Mechanics and Applications to Statistical Mechanics” [1], cited above.
Following publication, concerns were brought to the attention of the Editorial Office regarding overlap between this article [1] and several earlier published articles [2,3,4] originating from different authors.
Adhering to our complaints procedure, an investigation was conducted by the Editorial Office and Editorial Board that confirmed an overlap of text and equations in Sections 2–5 with previously published studies [2,3,4] without appropriate acknowledgement or citation. Given the extent of the overlap, the Editorial Office and Editorial Board decided to retract this article as per MDPI’s retraction policy (https://www.mdpi.com/ethics#_bookmark30), and in line with the Committee on Publication Ethics’s retraction guidelines (https://publicationethics.org/retraction-guidelines).
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Symmetry.
The authors did not provide a comment on this decision.
