The Axioms Editorial Office retracts the article Diabetic Retinopathy Progression Prediction Using a Deep Learning Model [1], cited above.
Following publication, concerns were brought to the attention of the Editorial Office regarding a significant overlap with a manuscript that was under review at another publisher at the time of publication [2].
Adhering to our complaint’s procedure, an investigation was conducted by the Editorial Office and Editorial Board, which confirmed the extensive and dispersed nature of the overlap and the relative timelines of the submission of the two articles. Consequently, the Editorial Office has decided to retract this publication [1] in accordance with MDPI’s retraction policy (https://www.mdpi.com/ethics#_bookmark30 (accessed on 6 March 2024)) and in line with the Committee on Publication Ethics retraction guidelines (https://publicationethics.org/retraction-guidelines (accessed on 6 March 2024)).
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of Axioms.
The author did not comment on this decision.
