Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This is a well written paper discussing  in a comprehensive manner the effects of HER1 expression and cetuximab administration in a subset of head and neck cancer patients.  Apart from minor faults (e.g. figure 2 is cut in half) the information given is well understood.

There is a lot of self-citation from the first author (11/57 ~ 20% of all citations). Although not inappropriate or extreme, it still is a matter of concern. I think a reduction of self-citations to 15% (8 or 9 out of 57) of the total to be more acceptable.

Author Response

Thanks for your revision. We addressed the minor faults and corrected the figure 2 as required. We performed a reduction of self-citations as indicated.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Editor,

Thanks for the invitation to review this interesting manuscript. Except for minor English edits and a minor error in the presentation of figures (for example, fig 2 is cropped in the draft I read), the manuscript is in good shape for publication.

Author Response

Thanks for your revision. We addressed the minor English edits and corrected the figure 2 as required.
