Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

There are no any comments.

Manuscript as titled below was well written considering experimental method, logic structure and academic results of paper. Therefore, I decided manuscript can be published in present form.

The positive effect of rare earth metals (REM) on the mechanical, technological and service properties of steel is widely known, which is usually explained by their chemical effect on harmful impurities and their binding to more refractory chemical compounds. The influence of REM on the corrosion behavior of steel is a rather interesting topic for research. However, there are several points in the article that can be corrected.

Line 89 In my opinion, there is no point in presenting images of equipment in this work. Moreover, in the text of the article there is not a single mention of what equipment (brand, model) the researchers used

Lines 94 -95 Figure 2 makes it impossible to judge the thickness of the corrosion layer. Could a link be made to figures 6,7 where the cross sections are presented?

Line 136 not the correct size, maybe there are micrometers?

Line 154 a link to the hand book of Auger Electron Spectroscopy is required
