Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper investigates the fatigue behavior of SLM printed AlSi10Mg parts including a post-processing study. The research method and result are good to me therefore I would recommend the publication of this paper in this journal. some minor questions:

  • I see the considered process parameters in the materials and method section. How did you find the optimal parameters for this study? What DOE method did you use for that? You need to elaborate on that in the paper.
  • You may show the size of the build platform in Fig1a.
  • Regarding Fig2., the manuscript mainly describes what is visible in the picture. More reasoning and explanation would be helpful.
  • How about simulation validation?

Reviewer 2 Report

The effect of residual stresses on the fatigue strength of L-PBF AlSi10Mg were analyzed by experimental and simulation, the research is systematic and comprehensive, and there are only tiny mistakes. It is suggested to be revised and published:

(1) Dimension parameters in Fig. 1 need to be given;

(2) Specific references should be given for some formulas.

Reviewer 3 Report

I have gone through the manuscript as submitted. The study is very interesting and relevant. I recommend that the paper may be improved as per the below-stated suggestions and comments.

Abstract should be given as more interesting. Express at least one of the main aspects and features of the paper.

At the end of Introduction section, it would be better to add the paper's organization in different paragraph.

Improve the conclusion. Future work is missing.

Please check the manuscript for wrong choice of words, grammatical errors and incoherent sentence structure.
