Effects of Zr Content on the Microstructure of FeCrAl ODS Steels
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The authors have already published a paper with the same title and content in Int J Energy Res.2021;45:10226–10234 (https://doi.org/10.1002/er.6511). The present paper mainly repeats the results published before by the authors. There are significant issues with the novelty and conclusions that the authors should address before the paper could be accepted for publication. I am reluctant to recommend this manuscript version for further consideration for publication in Metals.

1. Authors must revise the manuscript for grammatical and typo errors.
2. Authors must add few lines about mechanical alloying and why did they choose this method of preparation.
3. It is recommended to add below references to improve the mechanical alloying part in the introduction part.
https://doi.org/10.1016/j.powtec.2015.03.007, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.matchar.2014.11.030, Anal. Bioanal. Electrochem., Vol. 10, No. 3, 2018, 349-361, Journal of Materials Science and Engineering B 6 (5-6) (2016) 111-125, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.powtec.2014.03.061, , https://doi.org/10.24425/amm.2019.131091.
4. What happens if we add Zr content more than 1.2% to the FeCrAl ODS?
5. Authors add even Ti and W, then why did author used only FeCrAl ODS throughout the paper? It is suggested to mention FeCrAlTiW ODS.
6. Authors mentioned that, there will be a phase transformation from monoclinic to hexagonal, therefore it is recommended to add XRD of the alloy.

The presented manuscript of the article corresponds to the subject of the Special Essue. The subject of the study and the methods used confirm the reliability of the results obtained. Particularly interesting and important, in my opinion, is the presented analysis of the influence of the zirconium content on the size and nature of the distribution of secondary phases.
However, I would like to draw your attention to the following remarks.
1. Since we are talking about the use of this material as a protection against high-temperature oxidation under radiation conditions, it would be better to use vanadium-chromium-titanium alloys. In this regard, I recommend mentioning this in the first section of the article. For example, DOI: 10.5604/01.3001.0014.1451
2. Conclusion No. 2 is important, it has practical significance, but its argumentation in the discussion is not sufficient. I advise you to take a look at the article –
