Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The content presented in the article is very up-to-date. The article will arouse the interest of readers. The subject is rarely taken up. The author clearly formulates his thoughts. The author builds the text correctly. He constructs the project well, he states the problem. Conclusions and recommendations are well written. The maturity of the author is evident. The literature is rich and diverse. Notes to the author: The discussion of the results needs to be broadened, as the conclusions are clear.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear author(s):

The article follows a method of wording that is coherent. My comments  tend to specify issues of concordance with the GSW, such as:

- Update the bibliography on the specific, theoretical and casuistic development of the GSW (from 2012 to 2023). This would come in handy in the introductory part.

- To Clarify the notion of practice because it gives the impression that the focus of the work is more casuistic than practical (if the idea of practice is maintained, clarify it - the readers of your work will not be only social workers).

- The selection of cases by natural, technological and intentional criteria could be more precise: first, because the intentional is transversal to any event, be it biological, technical or socio-political; furthermore, this triad could exclude, because it is imprecise, environmental or geological phenomena (since it is about GSW and the term climate change has been mentioned 13 times, it might be interesting to include it specifically).

- GSW as a Pillar of Resilience focus the discussion on resilience and not on GSW. The opposite might be more interesting and consistent with your article, that resilience is a pillar of GSW (which would merit citing other pillars, perhaps more ecological and environmental).

-It might be interesting to add a paragraph of a few lines stating that GSW participates in global efforts for energy transformation, where Social Work has much to investigate, and to prevent further damage to the planet caused by excessive consumption of natural resources and accumulation of waste.

Finally, I hope these comments are of some use to you(s) and to the better understanding of those who read your article. In my opinion your work requires a minor revision to be published.

Reviewer 3 Report

There are some major lacunae in this manuscript:

1. The uniqueness of the concept of Green Social Work is not clear. The paradigmns and theoretical frameworks are already a part of Social Work as a discipline. What is new in GSW that has to be taught?

2. The literature review pertaining to the pandemic and the refugee crisis is very scanty compared to the vast amount of literature available on the challenges posed by these crises.

3. Under the case studies, the challenges described are very generic. Unless the challenges are described in detail, a strong argument cannot be made in favour of GSW.

4. The recommendations do not clearly convey what is it that social workers cannot do currently that they would be able to do with GSW training.
