- Personal performance goals (MR1): This factor includes items that reflect a motivation to improve personal performance as well as to avoid underperformance. Individuals with high scores on this factor may be particularly focused on their personal sport performance, regardless of the performance of others.

- Competitive goals (MR2): This factor reflects the motivation to compete and outperform others in sport performance. Individuals with high scores on this factor may be especially competitive and oriented to outperform their peers.
