2- i am unable to find the information about what type of agricultural products were targeted

3- No development indicator about infrastructure were initially described in the paper

4- need for the study should be highlighted at the end of introduction chapter

5-  Data set used for the study is not sufficient i.e. number of years for the data should be extended

Comments and Suggestions for Authors:

-Reviewer 1

Overall the paper is good but these points needs to be considered for improvement.

  1. Abstract of the study does not clarify the overall paradigm of the study.

Response/Action: We thank your comments and improved the abstract.

  1. I am unable to find the information about what type of agricultural products were targeted.

Response/Action: We thank your comments and added the information about what type of agricultural products were targeted in introduction.

  1. No development indicator about infrastructure were initially described in the paper.

Response/Action: We thank your comments and added the description of the development indicator about infrastructure.

  1. need for the study should be highlighted at the end of introduction chapter.

Response/Action: We thank your comments and added a highlight at the end of introduction.

  1. Data set used for the study is not sufficient i.e. number of years for the data should be extended.

Response/Action: We thank your comments. Since the reform and opening-up in 1978, poverty-stricken population has been greatly reduced, and the per capita income gap between urban and rural residents has also been significantly narrowed in the past 40 years in China. With accessing into World Trade Organisation (WTO) in 2001, the economy of China developed rapidly and the rate of poverty-alleviation increased significantly. In 2018, China has firstly achieved the poverty reduction goal of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) during the developing countries. Therefore, we select China's provincial panel data from 2003 to 2017 to analyze in this study.

Reviewer 2 Report

The investigation of poverty reduction and agricultural products circulation infrastructure is a significant phenomenon for the national agricultural growth. Therefore, the author chooses a fascinating research topic. A few comments for the author's reference:

1.      The author may modify the title— "Poverty reduction in China: does the agricultural products circulation infrastructure matter in rural and urban areas?". It could reflect clear insights of this paper.

2.      The author needs to highlight a more in-depth scenario on poverty and agricultural products circulation infrastructure in China in the introduction.

3.      In the introduction, author needs to include a substantial literature review to identify the lacuna of the investigation. For example, "Although there are some studies on the poverty reduction effect of infrastructure, the poverty reduction effect of agricultural product circulation infrastructure has not been analyzed."only this statement is not enough to justify the main argument of this paper.

4.      In the methodology, please include a table on explanatory variables, which reveals the description and sources of all variables. You may see the paper "Exploring the Factors of Farmers' Rural–Urban Migration Decisions in Bangladesh. Al-Maruf et al., 2022" see the link: https://www.mdpi.com/2077-0472/12/5/722

5.      What are the justifications for selecting the variables?

6.      Is the author used household/community level data in this analysis?

7.      Author used different types of variables (e.g., categorical, numerical etc.) in a single model. Hoe to address the issue, is it logical to perform a regression model? Please explain in the methodology section the different scales.

8.       Why did the author select China's provincial panel data from 2003 to 2017 to analyze? What are the selection criteria?

9.      Author may use a map to indicate the different regions i.e., east, west, central, northern.

10.   The discussion and conclusion section look sloppy. Please include more literature to support/differ from your findings. Also, please add limitations and recommendations for further study regarding this investigation.

Response/Action: We thank your comments. In this study, only numerical variables were used and their scales all were explained in methodology and Table 1.
