Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper theoretically analyzes and designs a fully automatic rice disc lifting machine for hard disk seedling cultivation through theoretical analysis of the disc lifting process. Through simulation experiments, the lifting efficiency, disc integrity rate, and other indicators were optimized, and the overall performance was relatively complete.

1. There are too many abstract statements in the article, and it is necessary to streamline the abstract content. The correlation between literature analysis and existing problems is not clear enough.

2. In formula (3), the final result is 0-24 °. Is 0 ° meaningful in practice? Is it still a theoretical value and should a more realistic range be given?

3. Should the detailed parameters and rationality of the machine be provided in Figure 2?

4. Figures 1, 2, and 3 suggest integration, with poor clarity and improved simplicity and intuitiveness.

5. In formulas (6) to (9), can we determine the range of detailed time differences between rice trays or what is the minimum time interval?

Reviewer 2 Report

1. How to ensure that the rice tray can be lifted smoothly by lifting shovel? Is the seedling tray strong enough? What material is the tray made of?

2. The shape of shovel tip was presented in section 3.1.1. How about the size and material?

3. Other parameters should also be listed in table 1. The parameters required for EDEM simulation should not only be density, Poisson ratio, and shear modulus, such as frictional coefficient, etc.

4. How about the size and material of the lifting machine, lifting shovel, horizontal conveying mechanism, rice tray stacking and conveying, and other part? If the size and material of the machine was not determined, how to simulate the movements of the rice tray and produce the machine?

5. If the material, size of the machine, the necessary parameters were not clear, the results of this manuscript was unreliable.

Moderate editing of English language required.

Reviewer 3 Report

The article received for review represents an interesting scientific approach, with a high technical level and addresses an important economic issue of mechanization and automation of machines in the field of rice cultivation, using seedlings.
In order for the article to meet the requirements for publication, I recommend the authors to consider the following aspects:
In the introduction part, the achievements of different industrial companies that have produced such machines are highlighted, but for a solid scientific foundation, it is necessary to refer to other scientific works published in ISI listed/indexed journals.
Chapter II, on material and method, is generally well structured, but I recommend the authors to present clear figures from which the process can be understood. As they are presented, the figures are not clear and it is not possible to identify the working bodies and how they work (see fig.2, fig.3, fig.5, fig.6 etc).
