Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript “The effects of agronomic management in different tillage systems on the fall growth and overwintering of winter oilseed rape” discusses the effects of five fixed factors on autumn growth and overwintering of winter rape under three different intensities. Although a great deal of research has been done on winter rape cultivation, this paper contributes to the existing scientific database. However, there are some errors in the manuscript. Thus, I suggested that the manuscript need to be major revised before it is accepted by this journal.

The following error was observed:

1.Line19: The“(2) conventional tillage” should be changed as “(A2) conventionaltillage”.

2.Line 20: The “(C2) – in fall and spring” should be changed as “(C2) in fall and spring”.

3.The spacing is too large. For example, line 71, line 73 and line 90, etc. Please check the full text.

4. Line 171: The “a digital pH meter” should be changed as “a) digital pH meter”.

5. Line 183: The “120 kg K20 ha–1” should be changed as “120 kg K2O ha–1”.

6.In Figure 1, the mean daily temperature legend is different from the chart color, please check and modify it.

7. Line 365: The A in the “Authorship” doesn’t have to be bold.

8.Line 381: The “Crops Prod.,” should be changed as “Crops Prod.”. Please check the references. And Crops Prod should be italicized, consistent with the reference that follow.

9. Line 382: The “116109” should be changed as “116109.” .

10. Line 440: The “2016 129, 40-46.” should be changed as “2016, 129, 40-46.”. Please check the references.

11. Line 505: The “Agriculture 2011, 4,154-165.” should be changed as “Agriculture. 2011, 4 , 154-165.”

Reviewer 2 Report

The article entitled “The effects of agronomic management in different tillage systems on the fall growth and overwintering of winter oilseed 3 rape” is written very well and according to the scope of journal. I recommend publishing it in the journal after addressing following comments.

Please revise the title of article to make it more comprehensive and understandable for the readers in one look.

Please start the abstract from the main research questions/objectives of the article.

In the second last paragraph of introduction, you must have to update the given sentence with given studies [1,2] as:

“It should be noted that the efficacy of 130 growth regulators applied in fall may vary depending on the development of WOSR rosettes determined by genetic factors [53], environmental and weather conditions [1,2], and 132 seeding date and rate [6,38,54]”

[1] Extreme weather events risk to crop-production and the adaptation of innovative management strategies to mitigate the risk: A retrospective survey of rural Punjab, Pakistan

[2] Sensitivity analysis of greenhouse gas emissions at farm level: case study of grain and cash crops

It is required to add article structure at the end of introduction section.

What are the main contributions of the study, it is necessary to write in the introduction for novelty. A theoretical framework must have to add before section 1.

For writing conclusion, authors must have to follow the given structure: research objectives, methods, summary of results.

I highly suggest to authors to write the main limitations of the study and recommendations for future studies in the section of conclusion.
