Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The MS "Studies on the physical changes of corn seeds during hybrid drying (convection and microwave)" is an exciting theme. However, the manuscript is poorly structured and not fluent. I find many linguistic errors (grammatical and punctuation) in the manuscript. Author should pay more attention to the usage of punctuation as well as fluency.

Comments:

1. Abstract: Abstract section is not written correctly. The abstract must contain background, methods, results and conclusion. However, in the present paper, it is lacking. Therefore, I suggest authors please revise the abstract accordingly.

2. Introduction: The introduction section can be improved. Please improve it with the latest references.

3. Materials and methods: ok

4. Results:

(i)Authors combine results and discussion in the same section; however, in the heading, only use the " Results". Please change its heading to "Results and discussion". This section needs massive improvement.

(ii) Citing only 8 references in this section does not justify your results.

(iii) Most importantly, please describe your results in a scientific way with the latest references (either in support or in contrary) to justify the significance of your work.

Please refer attached file for detailed suggestions/comments

Author Response

Reviewer 1

  1. Abstract:

It is completely revised according to the recommendations.

  1. Introduction:

The introduction section has been improved by adding new references.

  1. Results and Discussion

This section has been completely reconfigured. Comparisons were made with classical drying according to the recommendations. The scientific results were in agreement with the latest references. Several new references have been added to the paper.

Reviewer 2 Report

1. For clarity, a comparison with classical drying should be added.

2. How is the presented mode of combined drying justified.

3. Visibility can be improved by comparison with other combination drying modes.

4. Conclusions should be formulated in comparison with classical drying.

Author Response

  1. For clarity, a comparison with classical drying should be added.

In the results and discussions section, the comparison with other types of dryers (convective drying and by combining convective drying with radio frequency heating) was made.

  1. How is the presented mode of combined drying justified.

Compared to other types of seed drying, hybrid drying (convection and microwave) takes a much shorter time. The quality of the dried seeds remains comparable in terms of physical changes.

  1. Visibility can be improved by comparison with other combination drying modes.

The changes in the paper were made according to the recommendations.

  1. Conclusions should be formulated in comparison with classical drying.

The conclusions were completely revised according to the recommendations.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The author's revised manuscript accordingly. The manuscript can be accepted after consideration of a few points:

1.  In abstract:  add a conclusive remark.

2. In conclusion section: The conclusion should be in a single paragraph.

Reviewer 2 Report

The work can be improved by adding regression dependences of the quantities under consideration.

In the future, it is worth considering theoretical calculations of changes in the quantities under consideration by solving existing dependencies.
