This paper investigates the accumulation of bioactive compounds in Nettle Bioactive under different drought intervals, which is a guide for the production of Nettle Bioactive in agriculture. The article also has some problems, which are summarized as follows:

1Line: 14 Please also list the Latin name of Nettle Bioactive

2Line: 62-63 Please give the relevant literature support.

3Line: 77-80 What is the rationale for this experimental design? Is there any relevant literature support? Is the 24h interval a normal control group, 48h a moderate stress, and 96h a severe stress? Please give the appropriate explanation.

4Line: 107-116 Is this environment conducive to the normal growth of Nettle Bioactive, according to the information I have consulted (https:// www.thespruce.com/description-of-stinging-nettles-plants-2132937) According to my research , Stinging Nettle is adapted to grow in USDA zone 4-10, i.e. below 60 degrees Fahrenheit, which translates to about 15.6°C. The maximum temperature of the greenhouse where you conducted the experiment reached 40.6°C. Is there a high temperature stress along with the drought stress? Is it possible that the climate adapted to growth differs between different countries and regions depending on the variety? Please answer my doubts!

5Line: 181-182 How were the phenols selected for these measurements? What is the significance of their representation? Just to draw the same conclusions as in the literature [87]?

6Line: 242-243 Please list the full names of ABTS and FRAP

7Line: 396-397 What are the mechanisms? Are they supported by the literature?

8Line: 657 Atractylodes lancea needs to be italicized

Abstract

Make it clear that the paper is focused on growing stinging nettle for human consumption in a controlled environment. This clarification is important for an international audience.

 

Introduction

Include some references addressing deliberate growth environment modification impacts on bioactive compounds. The opening of the introduction suggests a global climate change focus but  later in the introduction suggests a focus on refining production techniques in controlled climate agriculture.  The relevance to climate change adaptation is only a subordinate point. Please make clear and consistent the focus and intent of the paper.   Has this irrigation system’s impacts on plant chemistry been analyzed elsewhere? Is this a novel contribution?

 

Line 107- Should be “Throughout the entire plant growth and development process…”

 

Line 110 What is meant by “decades” in this context?

 

Line 278- Should be ”aboveground” instead of “overground”

 

Line 278-282 make figure 4 unnecessary.  Alternatively, this information could be presented with the data in Table 3.
