Study on Mechanical Bearing Strength and Failure Modes of Composite Materials for Marine Structures
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The paper presents interesting and important experimental work on the bolted connection of the composite material and steel. The paper is relatively clearly written and obtained results are well explained.
The main drawback of the paper is the English language that needs to be improved considerably. I would advice that professional English lecturing is performed before publishing the paper.

Reviewer 2 Report
The topic of the document is of interest to the shipbuilding and offshore sectors. However, poor command of the English language significantly affects the quality of the document. Therefore, this reviewer recommends an extensive review of the text by a native English speaker.
Some more tips:
- In Figure 1, it is not entirely clear what shear-out failure and bearing failure are and how they differ. Please provide figures that are more meaningful.
- Section 4.1 anticipates some observations of Section 4.2. on the failure modes. It is advisable to reorganize the topics.
- The Section Conclusion consists of a mere list of experimental observations but there is no synthesis that leads to identify which material (CFRP or GFRP) and which diameter of the hole is to be preferred in practical applications.

Response 3: Section 4.1 and 4.2 were reorganized to fit the topic of each section.
Point 4: The Section Conclusion consists of a mere list of experimental observations but there is no synthesis that leads to identify which material (CFRP or GFRP) and which diameter of the hole is to be preferred in practical applications.
Response 4: The conclusion was revised to represent what the paper emphasizes.
