A Gift of Generosity—An Explanation of Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation for Muslim Audiences
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
In the paper, the author relies heavily on technical data and public policy about organ donation after death. The paper is unfocused and lacks a thesis beyond arguing that organ donation is a good thing. It begins with a solid introduction--about the Islamic scholars' varied positions on the issue--but transitions into a lengthy presentation of clinical practices and state policy. Not much attribution is given for much of the text; the sources for figure 1 are provided, but not for the remaining figures. The text is written in the style of a report or executive summary. The paper does not include an adequate review of the scholarly literature on Islamic biomedical ethics, and it is not analytical.

Reviewer 2 Report
The paper is an original research work; it is a contribution in the field of Modernist Islamic Studies since academic research on organ and tissue donation and transplantation is a fairly new and untrodden domain. The paper is written in very good English; there are a few corrections to be made though.
Author's conclusions are consistent with the main arguments he states at the beginning of his/her paper. I would recommend this paper for publication after correcting the few spelling and grammtical errors in the paper.
