Author Response

First, thank you for the revision.

1- I will add information on the charism and how the spirituality was inculcated within new members.

2- This paper was read by a former mistress of novices and two english-speaking sisters. This is important to be known. From the archives and from the oral tradition, sisters were formed through conferences by mistress of novices and the daily acts of older sisters. The impact of the opening of theology was certainly important for many religious women, but it is unclear  how  it touched Grey nuns. Many  sisters went to parishes to help with catechism, and received pastoral formation. There was an "Air du temps", new languages,  but I am waiting for sister's comment on this topic.

Texts were revised by A translator who is used to work with them during General Chapters. Two Grey Nuns from Toronto. The terminology used for the Grey Nuns spirituality has been carefully verified.

the two sisters interviwed were volonteers. They were living not far from my house. The Covid restricted the contacts. The interviews were conducted by phone. It was not "scientific".

I know the canonical differences between the terminology. The reason to use various terms will be explained. The specific points will be corrected too.

Thank you again.

Reviewer 2 Report

The article was very clear and engaging. I enjoyed it very much!

The close examination and analysis of the life of this particular community is a very valuable contribution.  It is unfortunate that, due to Covid, the number of contemporary interviews were limited, however I thought that the author made excellent use of the sources available.

My only suggestion is to add a sentence or two explaining how the percentages discussed on pages 15 and 16 were derived.
