Might the authors demonstrate how "prevalent" 40 of these Founders cases are in relationship to the total number of NRMs in this same time period studied? 10 % 50%? 80% Serious gap in research without this number.

Might there be some mention of the lack of care and supervision of the church authorities to monitor these groups?

Might there also be mention of how much money was exchanged by Macial to cover up his egregious behaviors? Cite Jason Berry.

Conclusions, One is left to wonder, so what? The conclusions need to be re-worked and re-thought here. Telling the reader we need to look at history seems odd, a bit simplistic, and not helpful.

Some minor edits are needed. Repeated sentences in paragraph one; page 5, "great effort was put forth, not fifth"; alignment of numbers on page 7; where do these come from by the way? Citation needed.

There are some minor presentational issues, notably repetition in lines 30-41 and the use of “NMR” instead of “NRM.”

 

More could be made of the analysis of Vanier’s legacy – why not simply reject his whole corpus as being irretrievably corrupt?

 

I am unclear about the use of “fifth” in line 233

Proof reading by a native English speaker is recommended. I wonder if the author is French? There are a few stylistic hints, not least the use of << >> for quotations.
