This essay need to be updated and completed. A translation of the Plomos to English with a 170 pages Introduction has just appeared. Small and not so small details need to be nuanced. As line 90 when said that Moriscos could be detected by their appearence, see on the contrary Maz Deardoff  book, A tale of two Granadas. The article is fine but does not say much that is new if compared with Nina Zhiri Beyond Orientalism, only that the book is better referenced that the article.

Thanks for the report.

I have added the refence to the new edition of the Lead Books by van Koningsveld and Wiegers. This helped me deal with the main criticism, that the article does not add much to what I said in my recent book. I obviously had to use my previous research to provide the background information on Hajarî’s life and career. However, I summarized this material in the new version, and added a substantial amount of material that was not included in my book, almost entirely related to the analysis of Hajarî’s work on the Lead Books. In my book, the analysis of Hajarî’s work on the Lead Books is very succinct. It is much more developed here. Thanks to the new edition by van Koningsveld and Wiegers, I was able to refine and augment my study.
