Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This is an excellent, well-argued, and timely article with an excellent thesis that is ably defended. Well done. I would suggest that in lines 264ff, where you find support from Titus and Acts 17, that you add a note defending Pauline authorship of Titus (which seems assumed) and the veracity of Luke's account of Paul's Areopagus' presentation. Aside from that, an excellent article.

Author Response

Thank you for the often thankless task of peer review—sacrificing your time in reading/engaging my article, and for your kind words of encouragement. The second reviewer shared your concern re. Acts and Titus. These clarifications will surely improve my essay and bolster my thesis, which will undoubtedly present my arguments more clearly and persuasively. Blessings, health, and peace to you and yours.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The writer risks setting up  a way of working which seems to  engage with readings of other scholarship which may be less than fair. Some of the work on appropriate classical cross-references could be tightened up.

See comments in documents for concerns.
