Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The author of the article certainly fulfils his clearly stated aim “to locate Cyril's teaching on Christ within the wider context of soteriology and then to present the main outlines of his core teaching on Christology.” The article offers a good overview of Cyril's most important Christological views and can thus serve as a competent compendium of Cyril's Christology. The research literature has been widely incorporated into the article and the different research positions have been presented in an understandable way. As last time, the lack of new research impulses in the article appears problematic. The author basically limits himself to referencing what has already been presented in the previous research literature and offers no new (independent) insights into Cyril's Christology. But if the aim of the article was to provide an overview of the Christology, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
