Some physical/chemical properties of graphite-containing magnesium alloyed fabricated by micro-arc oxidation method have been studied. The subject is potentially interesting. However, there are some points which should be considered by the authors in the revised version, as mentioned below:

  1. Concerning the unique properties of Mg in graphitized structures, it has been reported that Mg-graphene/graphite electrodes can be used for detection of nucleotide polymorphisms of single DNA molecules [ACS Nano 6 (2012) 2904-2916] resulting in early detection of diseases induced by gene overexpression [Carbon 79 (2014) 654-663]. This can be mentioned in the introduction section for further completion of the literature review.

  1. The crystalline structure of the samples should be studied. XRD can be recommended in this regard.

  1. For wear behavior, the authors should study some mechanical properties of the samples such as flexibility, stress and strain.

  1. The introduction seems a little long and sometimes irrelevant especially the text related to silver and copper-based conductors. It should be suitable shortened.

  1. The motivation and literature review in the introduction section needs significant improving. Some related works in this regard are: [ACS Omega 2020, 5, 13, 7262–7270], [Surface and Coatings Technology, Volume 413, 15 May 2021, 127083] and [Surface and Coatings Technology, Volume 317, 15 May 2017, Pages 125-133].

The article refers to the content of graphite able to change some parameters starting from their conductivity and corrosion properties resistance on functionalized magnesium alloys.

Line. 16. Sentence. on the effect of graphite content on the electrical conductivity. There is a double repetition

Line 17. This sentence appears to be not clear. “At a graphite weight of 80 phr” what authors consider as phr, in particular why was used this type of symbol and not the classic % for powders?

Line 18. In the sentence “and it exhibited good corrosion resistance”.  It is possible to change to “exhibiting good resistance”

Line 21. When the graphite content increased to 80 and 100 phr. It does not indicate from which value the authors started.

Line 22. sentence, generally is indicate to introduce from to. When the graphite content increased to 80 and 100 phr,

Line 27. Keywords require to be concise. For example: is suggested to introduce the “friction test” in the last keywords.

Line 77. What does the author consider as a high aspect ratio? This sentence is not cleat

Line 110. It’s not clear from where was obtained magnesium in terms of company and purity

Line 139. It’s not clear if the content was expressed in %

Line 226. In the figure, f is difficult to read the writing. is indicated to change it

Line 248. The figures are not clear to read

Why has not been used other specimen particles improved the conductive properties of graphite? But was used only graphite.
