Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors investigated “Polymer-Assisted Metal Deposited Wood-based Composites with Antibacterial and Conductive Properties”. The following are my comments.

1.       In the abstract the tensile strength, the porous size, and the estimated cost must be provided.

2.       Line 10-12; the synthesize metallic porous wood (Ni-PW) characteristics via XRD, FTIR, TGA, SEM/EDX, BET(surface area) must be provided

3.       In Line 108 the synthesize porous metallic wood (Ni, Ag and Pd, and so on) is different from what is reported in line 10-12 (Ni-PW) why?

4.       Pay attention to the reference and the journal structure and style

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper describes the preparation and properties of polymer-assisted metal deposited wood-based composites. It shows interesting properties as an industrial component and is suitable for publication in Coatings. However, before accepting the paper, some minor modifications should be done to the description as it is not clear in some parts.

1. L198-199 and Figure 7

It is difficult to understand the explanation of the state after 1000 cycles; it is recommended that  the results of the 1000th cycle with the initial resistance of the first cycle as 1.0 should be added in Figure 7.

2. Figure 8.

Because the five graphs are arranged vertically, the vertical axis is compressed, making it difficult to see the changes. Since the range of the vertical axis is the same, it would be easier to see the changes if the five data were plotted on one graph, since the vertical axis would be expanded.

3. L284

"Video S1: Motor, fan and ball" must be Video S2.
