Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors present a very nice manuscript entitled "Zein-Functionalized MCM-41 Silica Nanoparticles with Enzyme-Responsive for Controlled Release in Antibacterial Activity"

the idea is very interesting and sounds so nice

only some minor changes needed

kindly write the microorganisms full name then add the abbreviation

mention the Gram type of each organism

make the conclusion more concise

Abstract: MCM-41 has not been explained here and introduction part does not consist of this notation while abstract is fully addressed including MCM-41. Please discuss it very well so that non field expert can also understand the importance of MCM-41 preferably in introduction.

Similarly, Silica nanoparticle has not been introduced in abstract.

Introduction part need to modify accordingly including the importance of these terms with most suitable literatures.

In section 3.1.1...SEM

Sentence, ". It has been detailed that the pore structure was organized within the shape of hexagonal clusters of uniform tubular channels of controlled width" Please justify this ...........how can it be with the help of SEM images.

In section 3.1.4 : section should be discussion with reference to the literature.

figure 5 is not clearly visible, please use high quality images.

figure 6 is not well discussed, please details with reference to all the sections a, b,c, d etc....

Section 3.4: section must include a schematic mechanism of the action.

conclusion should be shorten.
