A Review of Flexible Acceleration Sensors Based on Piezoelectric Materials: Performance Characterization, Parametric Analysis, Frontier Technologies, and Applications
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The manuscript of Liao et al. describes the recent results for flexible acceleration sensors based on piezoelectric materials. In general, the manuscript defines and discusses basic topics such as frequency, 3d -printing, and fail in the discussion about the state-of-art in piezoelectric sensors for acceleration. As an example, Table 1 is poorly explored.
The abstract must be completely revised. There is no information to be considered in the current version.
There are basic sections that could be eliminated. Examples: 2.1. Concepts, 2.2 – Parameters 2.3. Relationship Between Parameters, 5.1. 3D printing Technology, 5.2. MEMS Technology.
Based on these aspects, I consider that manuscript cannot be accepted for publication in coatings in the current version. I suggest performing a profound revision before a new submission.
English language must be revised. Short sentences must be avoided.

In this work titled A review of flexible acceleration sensors based on piezoelectric materials: performance characterization, parametric analysis, frontier technologies and applications, the authors dealt with flexibility; acceleration sensor; piezoelectric materials; 3D printing; MEMS technology.
The topics are presented into: Introduction, Concept, Parameters, and Relationship Between Parameters of Flexible Piezoelectric Acceleration Sensors, Materials for Flexible Piezoelectric Acceleration Sensors, Structure of Flexible Piezoelectric Acceleration Sensors, New Technologies of Flexible Piezoelectric Acceleration Sensor, MEMS Technology, Prospect and Outlook
The present study demonstrates that the research progress of flexible piezoelectric acceleration sensors and their recent research results are introduced from the aspects of properties, materials, structures, and processes.
The paper is well written and with no mistakes and the authors addressed the main question posed .The arguments presented by the authors were consistent with the evidence and arguments presented by the authors . The paper is original . The concluding remarks were supported by the data, The authors used 140 support references.
In my opinion , the authors must include the influence of parametric errors on the proposed approach could be also included.

The performance parameters of the flexible piezoelectric acceleration sensor are introduced and a roadmap regarding the materials and the technologies is offered. The paper is well-written and can be published at Coatings as long as the following points are addressed in a revised version:
(A) What if certain substrates are located in-between the sample and the sensors? Certain connection with the respective electrodynamic systems should be made [1,2].
(B) How the piezoelectric sensors can be used to address inverse problems regarding the determination of the texture of a sample [3,4].
