The paper “Intelligent Recognition of Tool Wear With AI Agent” provides a comprehensive review of contemporary advances in artificial intelligence (AI) in tool wear recognition. The topic is interesting and could attract great attention. Some comments:

·       Add an outline to help guide the focus of the review.

·       Add some citations regarding application of IA to other manufacturing processes not only cutting:

o   https://doi.org/10.1016/j.swevo.2020.100650

o   https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jmsy.2018.01.003

·       add some tables to compare the works analysed and classify them by thematic lines.

·        

·       Figure 3 could be replace for others more appealing. A better selection of figures in general would benefit the article.

·       Some issues with the format like in: “Decision Trees and Random Forests K-Nearest Neighbours(K-NN)”

·       On the one hand, the conclusions, which are a section of great interest in this type of article as they allow the author to give a critical view of the review of the work, are too short in this case.

·       On the other hand, add more indications for future lines.

The paper has negligible scientific value due to its layout where AI techniques are leading and not wear mechanisms. This also results in a poor correlation of the paper with the journal's theme. The paper would have value if it included an exemplification of wear mechanisms and only attributed adequate AI techniques to them.

Regarding the novelty of the research field of tool wear identification and AI agents, I realized that compared with mature fields, there is indeed insufficient literature support. I highlighted the importance of tool wear identification in manufacturing and how AI can improve wear monitoring and maintenance strategies.
