Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

An interesting topic entitled "."

This paper studies the mechanism of multi-type traffic cooperative transmission to improve the performance of hybrid traffic scheduling to meet the requirements of multi-type hybrid traffic scheduling in a time-sensitive network.

Please, improve the abstract with a clearer problem statement, methodology and both quantitative and qualitative performance metrics.

State the correct meaning of the acronym "TT."

The proposed time-sensitive network (TSN) architecture (Figure 1, Line 212) model needs to be clarified. The authors have stated that "... H represents the two types of terminal nodes that send and receive ..." and "vi and vj are the source and destination nodes ...." This is misleading considering their definition of vi and vj  as link sets.

The modelled TSN graph function lacks the time constraints variables per link and node. The authors should state the defining time constraint parameters at each link and each node when data traverse the network. Moreover, relevant variables that define the type of link [e.g., coper or fibre or free-space (RF or optics)] should be included to model the proposed TSN architecture. For hybrid bounded and unbounded media routes, the link constraints on the link sets should reflect the TSN delay threshold variables for TT, RC and BE traffics respectively.

In particular, deterministic constraints on response latency and jitter for the TT should be modelled with the link media type constraints. The presented TSN architecture model needs to have a compelling model function accuracy. For channel-aware terminal nodes (H), explain the modification to the presented baseline model function for TSN architecture.

Teh presented related works are appreciable. Please, include any published works that address the media of the link sets and their latency information.

The authors should present the traffic parameters in the experiment in a table format.

Correct all grammatical errors and/or typos.

Break complex sentences into at least two simple ones.

Please, revise the traffic shaping and schedulability analyses and algorithms to reflect the (i) type; and (ii) latency of the link media.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors propose a strategy to optimize traffic scheduling for Time Sensitive Networking. The article is well written; nevertheless, the following observations were made in the manuscript :

Comments:

1.       Novelty in the paper's approach should be clearly presented in the Abstract and Introduction sections.

2.       The issue that concerns me the most in this paper is this strategy aims for which kind of network model and the representative of the data structures that flow within it. The proportion of three types of traffic in Table 2 is determined arbitrarily or based on any basis.

3.       The topology used in the article must be described in detail; if it is based on Figure 1, it is quite simple because it consists of only four switches, and the internal flows are pretty similar. The proposed topology must incorporate diverse dataflows between terminal nodes for a more thorough evaluation of the proposed method.

4.       The author needs to make comparisons with other state-of-the-art research approaches.

5.       Section 6.2.4 needs to be discussed more deeply the impact of CQF mechanism, if TT traffic always has the highest priority, then why LLF-TC has a larger delay than LLF-TAS.

6.       The acronym TT in line 10 and line 40 should be distinguished.
