This paper aims to evaluate the performance bounds in SE achieved by the 5G-NR precoding matrices in single-user (SU) and multi-user (MU) MIMO systems, specifically Type I and Type II, respectively. The application of these codebooks is discussed, providing a detailed guide and a comprehensive overview. As such, I have some concerns that need to be addressed.
1. How is the power of the users controlled? The author used a very complex notation that was hard for the reader to understand, Please make a notation table to make it easier for the reader to understand.
2. Equation 1 represents the received signal regarding the desired signal, interference, and noise. Based on this SINR in equation 2, need to explain in detail? How do you accommodate the interplay and noise in the single notation?
3. Please explain the reason for calculating the precoding vector using MMSE. Why have you not compared the results with ZF to elaborate on the effectiveness of your approach?
4. In the results section, please mention your scheme as the proposed scheme in the figure legend to claim your contribution.
5. Some recent work on precoding is missing from the literature. Please add them to the literature.
a) Energy-Efficient Resource Allocation for IRS-Assisted Multi-Antenna Uplink Systems
b) Energy-Efficient Design for IRS-Empowered Uplink MIMO-NOMA Systems
c) Optimizing Computational and Communication Resources for MEC Network Empowered UAV-RIS Communication
6. Please proofread the paper carefully to remove any typos and grammatical errors before submission.
