Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

  1. The article is poorly written and requires full proof reading. Formatting is poor.
  2. Please only add those paper that are from good journal or conferences. Review references because many of them are not standard.
  3. Novelty of the paper is not clear. Introduction may be improved, adding the highlights and the problem statements. You could discuss the relationship between your solution and past literature. You can add following citations: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/ett.4329, https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/8082033, https://dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.1145/3408321
  4. I suggest add a comparative table in ''Related Literature'' to contrast your solution in front of related works.
  5. The conclusion needs improvements towards major claimed contribution.
  6. The quality of the figures and tables should be improved.
  7. Provide the experimental setup and the tools used for the study. If possible provide a simulation parameters table.

Reviewer 2 Report

The aims of the paper is to address the challenge of simply randomly assigning nodes to the shards without considering the network distance between consensus nodes may make nodes located very far from each other, which increases the block propagation time and, hence, reduces blockchain throughput. This paper introduces a trust-based sharding distribution algorithm to enable the distribution of nodes among the shards based on the trust score of a node.  Thus, the trust score used in sharding and leader election processes can minimize the adversary influence of malicious attacks. In addition, the paper proposed a topology-based sharding scheme is also proposed to optimize the transmission of blockchain network to reduce the latency.

I find the paper is very interesting and have very good contributions. But need some enhancements as the following:
1. I did not find in the paper any comparison between the paper findings and previous papers to clarify the enhancement in the proposed schemes. Thus, the authors need to add table or figure to conduct the comparison and discuss it in details.
2. Quality of security section is not clear enough. The authors need to  highlight in this critical point. They can review some recent studies such as (1) A new scheme for detecting malicious attacks in wireless sensor networks based on blockchain technology, (2) An anonymous channel categorization scheme of edge nodes to detect jamming attacks in wireless sensor networks, (3) An Industrial IoT-Based Blockchain-Enabled Secure Searchable Encryption Approach for Healthcare Systems Using Neural Network.
3. The literature review is missing in the paper.
4. What is the limitation of the paper.
5. Update the references by adding recent studies in the topic.
