Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors have reported a filtering antenna with slots and stacked patch based on SISL for 5G communications. Please consider the following suggestions for major improvement in the paper.

1.    In abstract section, include the abbreviation of SISL.

2.    In Table 1, include the hight of each layer of the dielectric substrate.

3.    Explain the filtering mechanism in the proposed design.

4.    In Table 2, justify the novelty of the proposed paper as compared to the mentioned paper. To in Table II, Ref. No. [10, 20 and 23].

5.    Include impedance plot for the given band.

6.    English language to be improved in the text.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors,

- The filtering process is not clear, and the filter type used is not mentioned.        10.1109/TAP.2017.2760363

- In table 2, what is the major contribution of the paper?

- English needs to be improved as some sentences begin with "and"

- Clearly, present the filter contribution because the current version does not contain a filter.

Thank you,

1. What is the main question addressed by the research?

Designing a filter-antenna       2. Do you consider the topic original or relevant in the field? Does it address a specific gap in the field? The topic is original, however, the authors need to present it in a better way precisely showing where the filter lays       3. What does it add to the subject area compared with other published material? In the reviewer's opinion, the author has to include a table comparing the proposed work with other filter-antenna presented in the literature.     4. What specific improvements should the authors consider regarding the methodology? What further controls should be considered? In the reviewer's opinion, the filter implemented in this design is not shown.     5. Are the conclusions consistent with the evidence and arguments presented and do they address the main question posed? It can be improved by including some future work. Also, a compression table shows the significance of the presented design over other filter antennas in the literature       6. Are the references appropriate? It can be improved by including filter-antennas designs.       7. Please include any additional comments on the tables and figures.

Figures are generated with good resolution and consistent with the antenna design.

Reviewer 3 Report

The authors have presented a paper titled “A Filtering Antenna with Slots and Stacked Patch Based on 2 SISL for 5G Communications”. My comments are as follows:

11.  The dimension of the antennas should be included in the manuscript.

22.  The authors should include full form of SISL, in the manuscript

33.  The authors to compare the below papers in manuscript with respect to size of the antenna:

a.      A Compact Circularly Polarized Rotated L-Shaped Antenna with J-Shaped Defected Ground Strucutre for WLAN and V2X Applications

b.     Compact polarization diversity patch antenna in L and WiMAX bands for IoT applications

Comments to Authors:

Thank you for the great effort to justify the corrections. Please address the following comment in the final version manuscript.

- Write the full name of SISL in the abstract section.
