Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

1. English language needs some improvement throughout the paper. Please check and correct the grammatical mistakes in the whole document. Please, there are many other errors in this document in several places, please carefully refine the English language.

2. The document really needs a general nomenclature which must be placed at the beginning before the introduction section grouping all the symbols and characters used in the work in addition to the all the abbreviations.

3. You should add quantitative results in the abstract section.
4. You should add appropriate references for all equations.

5. The exact novelty of the work in relation with others should be highlighted in the Introduction.

6. It should be added a new flowchart to show the main steps of the presented approach (including: inputs and outputs in addition to the processes and decisions that used in the analysis).

7. There are many research papers study the same problem that investigated in the present paper. What is exactly the new point of this work?

updated:

This work focused on the computation approach of the dynamic pressure distribution for geometries (mostly in the component of EAPBs). Both types of internal and external were considered in the infinite long thin film and circular film analysis.

1. The entire manuscript has to be thoroughly edited because it contains some grammatical errors.

2. All abbreviations should be defined first and then use abbreviations, and it should add the list of all symbols and abbreviations that are used in the research paper.

3. A new paragraph should be added that focuses on the paper's new point (finding /novelty).

4. The abstract is devoid of any presentation of the most important results or percentages obtained from the research, so it is necessary to add samples of the most important results or percentages obtained.

5. Most of the equations (e.g., 1- 12) was written without mentioning the references of these equations, so it must be added the correct reference for each equation.

6. The new flowchart is very important in explaining the developed approach's main steps (input/output, processes, decisions, data, analyses, etc.). Therefore, it should be added a new flowchart.

Review of the manuscript “Squeeze film effect with high-pressure boundary in aerostatic bearings”

The abstract is OK

The overall introduction requires a betters structure as  now difficult to see a specific structure for a research paper. This make difficulties in reading and taking the message away. Specifically pose specific difficulty to understand the need of this work to full fil the research gap.

Most of the equation are taken from literature, therefore they requires a citation. Please be clear which one is your input and one used from literature or adapted.

You said “gas film is surrounded by ambient pressure” – it is required to clearly indicate it in order to replicate and allow easy understanding of configuration

The same scale bar should be used for both graph in Figure 2 and 3 – Y axis

Not very clear which is the difference between figure 1 and figure 8?

Section 5 should read only discussion as you have presented the results in other previous sections

The conclusions should present quantitative details linked to your results. Now they are very qualitative

1. It should be resubmitting the manuscript again, and change the color font of any change/ modification with different color (e.g. red color).

2. Actually the flowchart is very important and necessary therefore, it should be added to the paper. But in the figure of flowchart that you mentioned in your response, I noticed that you didn't use all the standard symbols of the flowchart so you should follow the standard symbols and modify this flowchart.

A: Surely. It’s our mistake that the MDPI polished papers are not re-uploaded. The words in new edition with grammar modification is displayed using red color. Please pat attention that some changes such as punctuation marks, deleted words, structure of introduction section, and adding of flowchart are not shown in red color.

A: Thanks for your generous suggestion. The flow chart is newly drawn and added in Figure 9. Please let me know if there are any good advice for the paper.
