Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper introduces a method of MPPT for PV system. This topic is interesting. However I have a few comments to improve the manuscript:

1- In table 1 the author compare between five algorithms, while in Table 5 compared only two algorithms

2- The technical specifications of the used PV module should be listed in aTable

3- Improve conclusion section

4- Improve figures 2,4 and 4

5- Figure 6 is not clear

Author Response

This paper introduces a method of MPPT for PV system. This topic is interesting. However I have a few comments to improve the manuscript:

1

In table 1 the author compare between five algorithms, while in Table 5 compared only two algorithms.

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s reminding. In order to make the manuscript has consistent in the comparison of different algorithms. We have changed Table 1 to Table 7, and then show two algorithms for comparison. In addition, a comparison of Table 5, Table 6, and Table 7, and further descriptions are added in lines 363-376 of this revised manuscript.

2

The technical specifications of the used PV module should be listed in a Table.

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s valuable suggestions. We have added the technical specifications of the used PV module as shown in Table 1, and further descriptions are added in lines 144-146 of this revised manuscript.

3

Improve conclusion section

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s reminding. We have revised the conclusion section; the revised portions are added in lines 380-409.

4

Improve figures 2, 4 and 4

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s valuable suggestions. We have updated Figures 2, 3, and 4, including the labels, and improved the image quality.

5

Figure 6 is not clear

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s valuable suggestions. We have updated Figure 6, including the labels, and improved the image quality, as well as further descriptions are added in lines 265-267 of this revised manuscript.

Reviewer 2 Report

The review comments for the manuscript, 'A Novel High-Performance Solar MPPT Algorithm under Uniform Irradiation and Partial Shading Conditions', are given below,

  • The authors presented a novel technique of MPPT called photovoltaic module quick regulate (PVM-QR) MPPT for different irradiating conditions.
  • Authors need to change the title of the manuscript a bit by mentioning the novel technique. And also 'Algorithm under' to Algorithm for'.
  • References need to be updated. I suggest the following, 10.1080/15567036.2020.1779872, 10.1007/s42835-018-00075-9,
  • Organization of the manuscript to be added at the end of Introduction section for quick accessing of the manuscript.
  • So many typos and grammatical errors are there throughout the manuscript. I suggest the authors to rewrite the manuscript without that. Line 273.
  • Everywhere, it was mentioned as PSC but only one irradiance value was taken. Kindly provide PSC conditions and also provide panel rating, array size and all.
  • What about the simulation results? Directly was this experimented?
  • Comparison table should be at the end of results and the existing techniques need to cited properly.
  • Presentation and work flow is really good.

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s valuable reminding. We have added these two articles in references [28] and [29], and further descriptions are added in lines 75-79 of this revised manuscript.

3

Organization of the manuscript to be added at the end of Introduction section for quick accessing of the manuscript.

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s valuable suggestions. We have added the organization of the manuscript in lines 117-120 of this revised manuscript.

4

So many typos and grammatical errors are there throughout the manuscript. I suggest the authors to rewrite the manuscript without that. Line 273.

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s valuable suggestions. This manuscript has been reviewed and revised by a native English speaker to read more easily before resubmission.

5

Everywhere, it was mentioned as PSC but only one irradiance value was taken. Kindly provide PSC conditions and also provide panel rating, array size and all.

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s reminding. We have added the PSC conditions, the single PVM rating, the single PVM solar cell array composition structure, and diagram of the PVM’s solar cell array for shadow simulation through a single PVM simulator soft (as in Figure 11), and further descriptions are added in lines 329-339 of this revised manuscript.

6

What about the simulation results? Directly was this experimented?

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s valuable reminding. We directly conduct this experiment by the proposed algorithm in this study.

7

Comparison table should be at the end of results and the existing techniques need to cited properly.

Reply:

Many thanks to the Reviewer’s suggestions. We have changed Table 1 to Table 7, and then show two algorithms for comparison. In addition, a comparison of Table 5, Table 6, and Table 7, and the existing technique of HC algorithm cited properly, as well as further descriptions are added in lines 363-376 of this revised manuscript.
