Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript photonics-3086235 by Huiyu Qi and colleagues presents a scheme to improve Lidar-based measurements using a Bessel beam and a highly-time resolved single photon sensor. The results may be of interest for the community and are clearly presented

However, there are several things for the authors to consider, which may improve the manuscript and that I have detailed in the attached PDF. I also suggest to evaluate the possibility to include the word Lidar in the title, since the a significant part of the results is linked to this measurement approach.

My overall view about the manuscript is positive, but it also requires significant improvement and may become suitable for publication in Photonics after a revision that would address the suggestions of the referees.
