Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

  • General:

The authors present an interesting dataset in further understanding the mechanisms behind paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy. The current status of research and why this study is highly relevant is well presented. The data provided is sound and would be reproducible. Overall there would be no criticism of the content of the paper itself.

Overall, just some minor remarks:

  • Language
    • The language should be kept in either British English or American English. As of now, both are used at the same time in the manuscript (e.g., analyse vs. analyze)
    • 41: which, when inhibited, prevents
    • 50: neuropathy2
    • 79,128, 146, 150, 224: Wrong citation format is used
    • 148: … , however, …
    • 164: vehicle-treated
    • 195: time points
    • 217: ice-cold
  • Table 1: is not provided or immediately linked in the manuscript.
  • Figure 12: Font in the graphs should be increased for better readability
  • 189-190: Also provide age of animals

  • Data description:

The data is original and the source of it is defined. The methods have been described in sufficient detail, making it possible to reproduce the data.

  • Data quality:

The dataset provided seems technical sound and appropriate quality control measures were applied. Sources of error have not been described, assuming the straightforward techniques used.

  • Data access, archiving, and metadata

The data have been archived under the GEO database with a provided number and link. Data has been provided in a format that can be reused by others (after minor revisions). No descriptions were made if data is available for reuse.

Author Response

Thank you very much for the valuable comments, which will significantly improve the readability of the manuscript. We have addressed all comments below and used the Track Changes function in Word for your reference. We have also increased the font size in the figures and hope these are now readable. Please see attached Word document with the suggested revisions.

Reviewer 2 Report

The data set stems from an experimental study that determined gene expression changes in the skin and the DRG in mice treated with paclitaxel. The manuscript itself is well written and comprehensive. The methods are described sufficiently and as far as I can see appropriate controls (e.g. several housekeeping genes) were used. The corresponding manuscript is indicated by DOI number and is currently accessible as a pre-print version.

Author Response

Thank you very much for reading the manuscript. We greatly appreciate your evaluation.
